"You know, evil comes in many forms, be it a man-eating cow or Joseph Stalin. But you can't let the package hide the pudding. Evil is just plain bad. You don't cotton to it. You gotta smack it on the nose with the rolled up newspaper of goodness. Bad dog! Bad dog!" -The Tick

I'm not a fan of the bailout, but to call it "fascism"... I don't know. To compare what is being talked about with the ways of Mussolini and Hitler... that seems to be taking it a little far. IMHO.
I've been reading "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg. He shows how the policies of businesses being beholden to the state for support is one of the key tenants of fascism. Mussolini was a more classical fascist than Hitler, but they both tweaked fascism to meet their needs. Another facet of fascism is continual crisis being used to justify governmental activism. The market is in crisis in large part due to government intervention in the first place, yet the government's answer is "more government!"
Well, it didn't last too long. I'll go to say welcome to the "United Socialist States of America."
It is weird that FDR had the right idea and his banking reforms protected us for ~60 years. now thanks to the Banking Modernization Act we killed all the good protection.
